SCROLL Feature
Full-Text Search
Go beyond titles and abstracts. SCROLL’s full-text search lets you find specific terms, variables, instruments, or phrases inside the body of uploaded theses.
Search Inside the Entire Document
Instead of checking only the title and abstract, SCROLL indexes the full content of each thesis (chapters, tables, and sometimes appendices). This allows you to find studies that mention a specific:
- Instrument or questionnaire
- Statistical test (e.g., ANOVA, Chi-square, t-test)
- Target user group (e.g., “Grade 12 STEM students”)
- Technology or framework used (e.g., “Laravel”, “React Native”)
How to Use Full-Text Search
- Go to the main SCROLL search bar on the home page.
- Type a keyword, phrase, or combination (e.g., “IoT based classroom monitoring”).
- Use filters (department, year, subject area) to narrow down results if needed.
- Open a thesis and use your browser’s find function (Ctrl + F) for deeper scanning.
When Full-Text Search Is Most Useful
Instrument Discovery
Find ready-made questionnaires, interview guides, or rubric structures used in previous research.
Method & Statistics
Check studies that used the same statistical treatment or experimental design you are planning.
Technology Stack
Look for implementations with similar technologies to guide architecture and design choices.
Specific Phrases
Track exact terms like policy names, standards, or institution-specific processes.
